Hinge now lets your friends write part of your profile
Hinge's Friend's Take, launched July 15, 2026, lets friends or family answer prompts about you through a link, and up to three answers show on your profile. As far as we know, it is the first time someone else can add to a Hinge profile.
On July 15, 2026, Hinge launched Friend’s Take, a feature that lets friends or family write part of your profile. It is available worldwide except in India, according to Hinge’s announcement. A profile on Hinge is built from photos and prompts, short questions you answer about yourself. Until now, you were the only one answering.
It works through a link you send to a friend or relative. They can answer prompts about you with text, a photo, a voice note or a video, and need no Hinge account. According to Hinge, each link expires after 72 hours or when 10 people have responded, and up to three answers can show on your profile.
As far as we know, this is the first time another person can put content on a Hinge profile, and it can go either way. A friend can say the nice thing you would never write about yourself, and it may land better coming from someone else. A friend can also pick the photo from that one wedding. A profile that is real but flattering is kittenfishing. Now your friends can do the flattering for you.
Hinge’s announcement also cites its own survey about daters asking friends for input. We have not seen how that survey was done, so we leave its figure out. We have not used the feature ourselves, and we found no data on whether it changes who matches with whom.
