Speed dating and singles events in Stockholm

Two organizers run dated, ticketed singles events in Stockholm this fall: SpeedD8, speed dating by age band for 349 kr, and The Dating Pitch Club, where friends pitch their single friends from a stage, for 185 kr. Everything else we looked at is paused, app-only or a general social. Checked October 4, 2026. We have not attended yet.

Most Swedish singles would rather meet someone in person. In Internetstiftelsen’s 2025 survey, 55% of singles preferred meeting potential partners offline, and 18% had dated online that year, down from 27% in 2022 (Internetstiftelsen, 2025). Searches for dating apps in Sweden fell by about three quarters in a year, according to Ahrefs data we pulled in October 2026 (Ahrefs, 2026). SVT followed one 32-year-old who swapped the apps for speed dating (SVT, 2024).

What we looked at

We looked at organizer sites, Meetup groups and event listings on October 4, 2026. Two organizers had a Stockholm date, a price and a ticket for sale.

SpeedD8 runs speed dating in age bands, one band per night. Its Stockholm nights are October 12 (25–35), October 13 (30–40), October 14 (35–45), October 21 (40–50) and October 22 (45–55). The pages for October 12 and October 21 both list 349 kr per person. The October 12 night is at Eken Bar at the Hilton, Guldgränd 8, from 19:00 to 22:00. SpeedD8 also runs Uppsala on October 5 and Gothenburg on October 20, 21, 22, 27 and 28.

The Dating Pitch Club is a setup by friends, with a microphone. Friends take the stage and pitch a single friend to the room with a short presentation, in two pitch blocks with mingling in between. Angela Ahola hosts. One ticket covers you whether you pitch, get pitched or just watch. It costs 185 kr, and the events are 18+. The venue is Biblioteket at Medborgarplatsen 2, with doors at 17:00, the program from 19:00 to 21:30, and a bar. Dinner packages exist, at a price we did not see. Editions are themed and come every week or two: Cuffing Season on September 29, 40+ on October 6 and Halloween on October 20. Nothing was listed after October 20. Dagens PS covered the same format in Malmö on May 21, 2026 (Dagens PS, 2026).

Smile IT also runs speed dating, in bands of 25–35 and 35–45, plus nights for women dating women and men dating men, ages 27–35. The last price we saw was 329 kr. The site says it is paused until after summer 2026, and it had no dates on October 4.

MinglMe arranges group activities for singles, such as dinners, wine tastings, after-work drinks, dancing and quizzes, booked in its app. The public site shows no prices, ages or dates.

Timeleft seats you at dinner with strangers and lists Stockholm as a city. It is not only for singles, and we could not find a price or a date.

Single Mingle Stockholm is a Meetup group with 3,556 members. Its page says the group is quite inactive at the moment, and lists a game night anyway: October 17, 18:00–21:00, in a private apartment in Solna. It is potluck, and the address goes to confirmed attendees.

Stockholm Thursday Mingle, run by Nordic Society, is a free social for making friends. It is not a dating event. It runs Thursdays from 18:30 to 22:00 at Den Gröne Jägaren, Götgatan 64, and the listing goes from October 8 all the way to December 24, 2026, the evening Sweden celebrates Christmas. It is 18+, and drinks are pay-as-you-go.

We also saw a few events we left out of the table. Cocktails in Stockholm, on Meetup, has a cocktail social on October 17 that is not labeled for singles. Dinner Buddies, also on Meetup, organizes restaurant dinners that are not for singles. Stockholm Run Club meets Tuesdays at 18:00 at Clarion Hotel Sign through October 27, and is a run club. No.36 is a members-only singles club that takes applications twice a year and publishes no prices. The domain speeddating.se now redirects to it.

Two names from older lists are gone. Thursday, the US and UK app, no longer has a working site, and its old domain is for sale. We could find no trace of Generator x OkCupid. We did not check Facebook events.

The gender balance at these events is uneven, and not always in the same direction. On SpeedD8’s October 12 night, men’s tickets had sold out while 10 women’s tickets were left. The October 21 night had 14 men’s and 12 women’s spots left. In Jönköping, TV4 reported in December 2025 on a singles party that was 50 men short (TV4, 2025). Two nights and one news story are not a pattern, and we do not know which way Stockholm leans.

How speed dating works

Speed dating is a series of very short first dates in one evening, with people in a similar age range. SpeedD8 is the example we have details for: one recommended age band per night, up to 15 to 20 dates of 4 to 5 minutes each, a break with mingling and one welcome drink. That adds up to as much as 100 minutes of conversation. If you lean toward slow dating, four minutes is not much to go on.

SpeedD8 says contact details are shared only if you both showed interest, with an email within 48 hours. Other organizers do it differently, so check the event page.

The ticket is most of the cost of the evening. SpeedD8’s 349 kr includes the welcome drink, and the price we saw included nothing else. The Dating Pitch Club’s 185 kr gets you in, with a bar on site and dinner packages at a price we did not see.

What we could not verify

MinglMe and Timeleft show no prices on their public sites, so the table says that instead of guessing. Smile IT says it will be back after summer 2026, and gives no date. When we checked on October 4, the Dating Pitch Club’s October 6 edition still showed tickets, with a note that places are limited; that may have changed. No organizer publishes attendance figures we could check, so we cannot say how full any night gets.
